13th March 2008, Thursday..
This is the day , we flight off to Macau. This is the 1st trip I've organised with my family members. Total we've 9 adults & 2 kids...quite a big group isn't it.
Well, I actually not really act like a tour guide. Basically, I just arranged the flights and accomodation for this trip. Here's our itenary:-
1st day 13th Mar'08 : We arrived Macau at 8pm and we book a van at the airport counter at HKD150 to hotel. We stayed in Metropark Hotel, Macau and the rate is about RM200/room.
We spend a nite in Macau, and we just had our dinner somewhere near our hotel as we were very hungry at that time.
The food there not bad and of course the price is slightly higher compared with our msia's rate.
After dinner, we walked around and there are so many casinos around the city...and the whole city is so bright and crowded. I like the brightness there, it make me feel safe to walk around.
They have many goldsmith shops as well and surprisingly they open all nite long...same service hour like the casinos there. I heard they have good business during midnite as most customers are from the casinos. They are either buying new gold chains or to sell their own gold...hahaha.
We went back to hotel around 11pm, i was tiring and sleepy. So, after shower..just collapse.
My husband and my brother in law, still have the energy to visit the new Lisboa Casino and it was great and nice there...anyway, Im not really fancy about casino ...so i dont really willing to force myself to visit the place on that tired nite.
14th Mar , Friday
After a good sleep, we went to breakfast. Tell you what, I don't really like the ppl there. They look blunt and rude. Not sure why they are like that, I guess is either they earning low salary or just their way of servicing? WEll, Im sure is not our fault as we paid them & dont owe them a single cents..I think Macau tourism board should look into this matter as the tourist are paid for their journey and food there..
After breakfast, we proceed to their tourism place call 'Tai Sam Pa' ..where they've shopping there , to see the re-constructed portugist bulding and also visit their famous ST Paul's Church wall ..Nevertheless, we also tried out their local food such ac almond biscuits, dried meat etc..and we bought the almond biscuits for our frens & relatives in msia.
Around lunch time, we purchased a bus tickets at Guangzhou and we left Macau around 3pm.
The journey frm macau to Guangzhou is about 3hours and we reached Guangzhou around 7pm.
Our relatives (my cousins) fetch us at the bus station and all of us squeeze in a van that belongs to the police goverment as my cousin is a policeman in Guangzhou. His wife is an office lady.
They brought us to a Hakka restaurant for dinner..and they have ordered so much dishes and big portion. It was really too much but we still can finished it.not bad huh....big eater..ya
Guangzhou ppl , they can speak cantonese like Hongkie and also mandarin like the chinese.
We communicate with our relatives in cantonese. After the dinner, we just go back to our uncle house and we are going to stay there for 2ites. Their house is located about 20mins away from town. Their hse is 3storey banglo house..sounds not bad huh ..I heard from my mom, they used to stay in a government flat and my uncle's son (my cousin) is a policeman and they've the benefits to get a land from the government FOC. Since, they've a big land so will defintely have a big house. They like to drink chinese tea a lot..day & nite. They also likes to eat porridge and light dishes. No wonder the ppl there are all slim..our group frm msia are all bigger size than our relatives in Guangzhou. Thats becos their lifestyle is so much different compared to us.
They've a very bad driving system there..I guess, the city is too big and is just too hard to control. Even my cousin a policeman will break the rule, he will just drive the opposite direction to reach the destination, otherwise he will need to take a long way to make a u-turn. So, he breaks the rule...then. So is not a suprise to see the cars in Guangzhou driving coming from opposite direction. The other cars will automatically will gv way...we were rather panic when we see such situation as is look dangerous...though.
15th March, Sat
Our cousin bring us to city for a nice breakfast. The service in guangzhou is good, food is cheap & nice. So much better than Macau. Maybe, my cousin know the owner of the restaurant thats why we have an exclusive service. Anyway, we enjoyed the breakfast..it was yummy!
Then, we went to a historical place where they shown the old days furniture and the artistic design of the house in those day. We never been to many places in Guangzhou as our purpose is just to visit our relatives and we only spend 2 nites there. So, we didn;t intend to go further places that away from Guangzhou as it takes time to go there. Moreover, is not very comfortable that 9 of us squeeze in a van..ya. Forget it.
Afternoon, we went to a street where my mom wants to buy some cheap grocery stuff.
During that time, my husband , bro in law & bro were resting there and have their afternoon tea with nuts. They were sitting on the low chairs and table which they really look like those china ppl hanging ard there..
The ladies like us...went to saloon to wash our hair as the cost is so cheap at RM2/person
The saloon really look like 70's but still ok..la. I got shock that i realise they've extra service behind the salon. On the wall its stated, facial proceed behind the door. So, when i was 1/2 way washing my hair , i saw a young lady and a guy came out frm the door. The guy paid the money to the older lady (i guess is the mamasan). I saw the young girl is in a messy hair and adjusting her bra..and the guy look like just woke up frm sleep and look tiring. So, i think that must be the prostitute svc there...i 've a 'geli' feeling...yiak. Anyway, thats my experience for hair saloon in Guangzhou..hahaha.
Oh ya..the men also bought alot of chinese tea..the exclusive grade tea..le. They said the price there is so much cheaper..
Thats all we spend our time at Guangzhou city and we go back to prepare ourself for dinner.
Dinner time, the rest of our cousins also coming along and have reunion dinner with us and of course, we snap our reunion photos at our uncle's house.
We had a great dinner there...I can tell you, we always eat good food in Guangzhou..thanks to our relatives who really take care of us a lot and we really appreciate their hospitalities.
16th Mar, Sun
We departing Guangzhou to Hongkong via train service. The train is very comfortable, it was so good compared with our KTM service. The train there is so stable and quite, the seats are so comfortable. Just can't tell why Msia can't have the same train condition in msia..
the journey is about 1.5 hour to reach HKG.
We reach Hkg around 12pm and we take a van to Mteropark Hotel, Kowloon. Checked in..and we go for lunch and we proceed to Women street. It was so crowded there..
Evening time, we ate cup noodle in our room and we went to 'Lan Kuai Fong' for a drinks. It was quite on that nite, maybe is Sunday so,,,and we hoping to see an actor or artist,,unfortunately..no luck. We just had our drink & some snacks at the foodcourt there as we see not many ppl in the bars there..no fun..u know.
17thMar, Mon
Today, we supposed to bring the kid to Disneyland but due to the serious flu case in HKG, we decided to cancel it..sorry kids..So. tis day, we went up to the peak by ourself. We took a bus, and a ferry to HKG island , when we reached there we took an open top double tacker bus to the tram station. It was fun and nice to travel on this bus. We took a tram to go upto the peak. The tram is in good condition and is really steeve..but is safe...dont worry.
We reached the peak and visits Madam Toussad Ctr. Walked around and we came down around 12pm. Then we had our lunch at the nearby shopping ctr at pier. We likes their roasted chicken rice, is their famous food in HKG..it was yummy.
after lunch, we went for a walk at the 'Sing Kong Tai Tou' it was very windy & cold there ..and i like this place a lot.
Later, we split our group. The guys & kids went back to hotel for rest and the ladies go shopping.
We went to Lai Chi Kok wholesale ctr, unfortunately we only have 1.5hours to spend there and we didn;t know that they closed at 6pm. Before that we were taken wrong bus and went to wrong place. We wasted an hour time there, so we only managed to reach the right location around 4.30pm..so sad:-(
I managed to buy a bag and a shoe there..as u know they are the wholesaler so they hv limited stk there . They only supply in bulk to dealers. For walked in customers like us, they only sell limited qty but the price is good. I can get the shoes at ard RM25/pair..not bad huh.
Dinner time, again we split our groups. My mom, bro & aunties are too tired and decided to just eat their dinner nearby hotel . Myself and my sis, both couples went to women street for our dinner, We tried out their beef noodle...it was not very fantastic. We still prefer the beef organs (ngau chap) stall that located nearby our hotel in Macau. That one was really good and its already been selling there for more thn 15yrs...
Back to our dinner in women street, after the dinner we had a some shopping at women street again. My bro in law bought a roasted goose and some bir, then we take our hotel shuttle bus to Sing Kong Tai Tou again to see their nite view there..it was so nice and cold. We had our snack (roasted goose & bir) there and it was so nice & tasty. I feel so relax...
Around 11pm, we take our last shuttle bus back to hotel for our sleep...
14th Mar, Tuesday
We depart HKG after checked out at 12pm and we take a speedboat back to Macau.
We reached Macau ard 4pm and we just proceed to airport for our way back to Msia.
Thats all my journal list. Honestly, I still prefer to go holiday with smaller group as is not easy to handle a group alone, especially families member. After this experience, I would prefer to engage a tour agent for family's holiday as we can just rely on other ppl instead.
Till then, looking forward to another holiday. ...bye!!!
Cheers
