Langkawi trip - April 2012

Let me count...oh my god is almost a year that I have not been blogging here..feel so bad. Well, sometime my life is just too simple and nothing much happen around me to blog about. Besides..busy busy at work and home, no time also.  That's why im kind of missing in action for a while..so, please excuse me ya.

Recently, we just went to Langkawi to celebrate my girl birthday there. Sounds proud ya ..but actually is not really la.
She is the only child at home and I thought since we need to take a break , must well just choose a special day to do it. Thats how and why we go Langkawi in April ..

We stayed there for 4days 3nites...sounds long and boring isn't it. Thats our first thought as well cause nothing much in Langkawi except duty free shopping etc..However, out of our suprise the duration is just nice and we really re-charged our battery in this trip. We were given a nice chalet in Berjaya Resort..and my girl is so exciting seeing the pools & the facilities there.

Basically, we just went out shopping on our 1st day of arrival and had our dinner at Kuah, visiting the huge Eagle and had their famous nasi lemak at Dataran Lang. Is quite far to travel from Berjaya Resort to Kuah town..anyway, we done this bit and bought whatever we need to buy at the dutyfree shop on the 1sday.

2nd day, we had our b'fast at the balcony after a long sleep at nite. Enjoying the green scenery and rainforest surrounding us. At that moment, I tell myself this kind of life is really great. The coffee and bread is nice & tasty, just because we are having it in a different enviroment. Usually, i don;t eat bread on weekend..We ate on weekday in a rush cause we need to start work on time..etc. We don't have the time to slowly taste the bread and the coffee at all..
After breakfast , we spend our time in the resort swmming, sun bathing, beach activites..etc. After all these, is time to take our afternoon nap.  Then we go Pantai Cenang for our sunset dinner at Light House Restaurant and shopping again...at nite, as usual we enjoyed our alcohol drinks and snacks at nite..chatting a lot with hubby . He speak a lot during holiday..wierd guy huh, but I like it..hahaha

3rd day, same breakfast and we went to Oriental village , thought of trying the cable car unfortunately they closed for maintenance. So we just walk around , feeding fish and horse riding...sound boring but my girl enjoying it ..so what to say about it. We as parent will feel happy too when you see your child's happy all the time. Go back to hotel , rest. Daddy and girl take nap and mommy (me) go for spa. The massage and the spa in the rainforest..is really different. Dinner time, we had a luxury one in the hotel , slowly enjoying our buffet dinner in the cafe near the swimming pool with the breeze from the beach. The sound of the wave ..is really comfortable & relax.

Last day,  we had breakfast at the hotel and went for a short swim after the breakfast. Check out around 12pm and time to fly back to KL.

After reading my blog, do you agree with me that 4D 3N are not that long and boring anymore. Some people likes to do shopping a lot during their holiday. For us, prefer more on the relaxing type instead. Well, different people has different perspective so just do what you think is enjoying yourself.

Here are some pictures to share on these trip. I just picked a few as the rest has been uploaded in my FB.

CNY 2011

Look at my pet (Sugar)..can u see she is smiling in this picture...cute ya...hahaha

She act like a model on this day to show off her new clothing for CNY ..

This one is the mommy want to show off the flower blossom...kekeke

Is been long time that I've not updating my blog. Anyway, will try my very best to update at least once in a month.

Above are the few pictures showing my daughter & my pet with their new clothing. We do not celebrate much for this CNY as my father in law were just past away not long ago. Thus, we have to keep it low profile this year. As usual, we went back hometown for CNY but feel weird this year as the elderly are no longer there. Luckily, I've a good sister in law who is good in cooking and she handle everything eversince my mom in law has passed away.

Lets forget about the sadness and tomorrow will be better and better.

03rd Jan 2011 - Picture I like

I don't know why ..but i just love these pictures..here sweet smiling face is really attractive.
She is my daughter Xin Yi and she is going to 3yrs old. She got a lovely face with tanned skin.
Everybody asking me the same question , is she mix , your husband is not a chinese?
And my std answer will be, no my husband is chinese. Her skin colour followed my mother in law . God is fair...he gave her a sweet face but not a fair skin. Anyway, the colour is not important as long as she is healthy and be a good girl.

31st Dec 2010 - Last day of SweetSense

This day is our last day and Sweet Sense will be ceased from 01st Jan 2011.
Is a bit sad to ceased the business but I guess we have no choice in order to make everyone happy and relief with the current tight shcedule that we encountered.

Anyway, I learned a lot along the way and build the interest on baking although im still not that perfect but at least I've done it...and Im quite satisfied with myself at this stage.

Biz is stopped doesn't mean I will stop baking. I will continue baking when im free and will definitely share my experience here.

Here are a few of our last cupcake project for wedding .

Pineapple Yogurt Cake

It has been a while that I've stopped my posting here as well as baking reason is my maid has gone home and I've no helper to handle my daughter and the house whore. Is been a tough time for me to juggle everything with litte time i have ..sigh. Really tiring. Beside I've been fall sick so easily lately. Probably, my busy schedule and stresses at work...pai mia.

Nevertheless, I still baked when im in the mood. The last time i baked this Pineapple Yogurt Cake was sometime Oct and I promised is really really tasty. The tangy flavour will make you keep on eating it and so hard to stop it. The recipe is so easy, simply follow my recipe of the plain yogurt cake in my last post and add on some fresh pineapple chunck on top of the batter and bake it till it cooks. It tends to have some burning stain on the pineapple but is fine as that is the effect of the caramelised of the natural sugar from the pineapple itself.

Here are the pictures of my pineapple yogurt cakes via iphone. You can see the texture of cake slice, is so moisture and fine...yummy.

Cinnamon Bun

It has been a busy month for July as my assistant has resigned and I need to cover her work for time being. Beside this, July is our company financial year and everyone are rushing to meet the sales target and year end stock take. I've been going thru this momentum with the same company for 13 years..
Every time reach home, i feel so tired and really have no time to update my blog. Nevertheless, I never give up my baking pratice over the weekend.
Here is my first trial baking Cinnamon bun. Since I've been follow www.dailydelicious.blogspot.com and realised her detailed method is really workable and i seems successful most of the time i follow her receipe. Same for this Cinnamon bun recipe, I modified one of her receipe call Almond and Apricot Chelsea bun. This Cinnamon bun taste really good, soft and i really enjoying the smell of the cinnamon...i should have put more cinnamon powder in it..

To cut short my long winded blog, here's the modified recipe.

Ingredients for dough :-
225gm breadflour
7gm instant yeast
1/2 tsp salt
25gm sugar
100ml warm milk
25ml water
1 small egg
25gm butter, melted and keep some for greasing

Ingredients for filling:
13gm softened butter or margerine
10gm sugar
2tbsp honey
2tbsp cinammon powder
1/4 cup brown sugar

Method:-
1. Put the flour, yeast, sugar and slat into a large mixing bowl & mix well. Make a well in the centre and pour warm milk, water beaten egg & melted butter (i mix all of these in a jug & pour them all at once).

2. Using the dough hook on medium speed, mix everything together to form a dough. If the dough is too dry, add a little more warm water. If is too wet, add more flour. Knead until the dough becomes smooth & springy about 5- 7mins.

3. Take the dough out of the bowl & shape it into a ball on a floured surface. Transfer to a clean lightly greased bowl and cover loosely with a clean damp tea towel. Leave in a warm place to let it proof to doubled size , about 1 hour.

4. Preheat oven to 180C, greased a 18cm cake tin.

5. Take the risen dough out, punch out the excess gas from the dough. Take out on a lightly floured surface and knead a few seconds.

6. Roll out the tough to a roughly 20x30 cm rectangle, spread the butter evenly over the dough. Then sprinkle the cinnamon powder & brown sugar. Roll up firmly like a swiss roll. Cut into even slices with a sharp knife, shapw into 8 round pinwheels. Then arrange in the tin.

7. Cover with clean damp tea towel, prove for about 20mins (about double in size).

8. Bake the buns for 10mins, then lower the temperature to 160C and cook for 10mins until golden brown.

9. Melt the honey with 1tbsp warm water, brush all over the buns to set the moisture of the bun, when served.

till then, i hope you all will like this recipe and happy baking!!
